The Streets Will Walk Me Home brings to life one of
Yemeni-Souse poet Amina Atiq's works through animation.
The animation was commissioned as part of Yemen in Conflict a
multidisciplinary project that aims to provide long-term protection
to traditional and new popular literature in Yemen in face of
ongoing conflict. Working with diasporic Yemeni communities in the
UK, the project asks how storytelling might heighten and enhance
both political and public awareness of the situation in Yemen, lead
to wider cultural understanding of diaspora and refugee communities
in the UK.
A partnership between Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, the University
of Leeds and the University of Liverpool.
Supported by Arts Council England and The British Academy.
